WOSU-TV began broadcasting on February 20, 1956, though Ohio State University had pushed to start an educational television station as early as 1951. The three stations share studios on North Pearl Street near the OSU campus WOSU-TV's transmitter is located on Highland Lakes Avenue in Westerville, Ohio. Owned by The Ohio State University as part of WOSU Public Media, it is sister to public radio stations WOSU-FM (89.7) and WOSA (101.1 FM). WOSU-TV (channel 34) is a PBS member television station in Columbus, Ohio, United States. Unfortunately, walk-in registration is not available due to health and safety protocols for events and gatherings at the university. Second Saturday Kids Days are free to attend, but pre-registration is required. We are closely monitoring the pandemic conditions and will communicate any updates to the Second Saturday schedule should public health guidelines change. Second Saturdays continue learning beyond the school day by leveraging PBS resources and education partnerships to take a holistic approach to meeting the educational needs of students. The generous gift from the DiMarco family provides program funding for the inaugural three years of Second Saturday Kids Days for Central Ohio families.Īdditional funding for Second Saturdays is provided by the Ohio Learns 360 grant from the Ohio Department of Education. They tailored the focus of their gift to match what is important to them – families and children. When Ann and Tom DiMarco first learned about WOSU’s new headquarters, they looked beyond the physical space to what could happen inside the building. Second Saturday Kids Day Saturday, February 10th, 2024 At each Second Saturday event, children will experience learning through characters they already know and love and explore themes that combine imagination, interaction and technology to investigate art, science, math and reading.
